 SARA for Women Society (SARA) has an opening for a full-time Administration Manager.  SARA for Women Society is a non-profit registered charity providing Housing, Outreach, Counselling and Crisis-support for women and children in Mission and Abbotsford.

Section 1 – General Information

Position Title: Administration Manager

Job location: Mission/Abbotsford

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Reports to: Executive Director

Section 2 – Job Summary

The Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing Society budgets, funding contracts, property leasehold, and asset management.  This position develops and implements systems, policies, procedures and evaluations.

As a respected leader, you will be responsible for providing administration leadership in support of the Executive Director. The Administration Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of a continuum of integrated services of SARA for Women Society. You will support operations by supervising staff, planning, organizing, and implementing administrative systems. SARA for Women Society services include two transition homes, three second-stage housing sites, the Warm Zone drop-in centre, offices in Abbotsford and Mission (with Outreach, Counselling, Pregnancy Outreach, and PEACE programs), and a social enterprise boutique in Mission.

The Administration Manager has the responsibility to plan, develop, manage, coordinate and evaluate the delivery of this broad range of services and is directly accountable for the quality of services and for setting and monitoring standards of practice. You will have an understanding of work planning, project management, best practice, and comprehensive knowledge of Not for Profit organizations. You will lead grant and proposal research, planning, writing, submission and reporting. This includes researching, compiling, writing and editing grant applications. You will prepare and submit funding proposals and grant submissions for foundations, corporations and community grants; respond to municipal, provincial, and federal government funding opportunities including RFP’s, annual contract renewals and special project grants; prepare and submit Letters of Inquiry; prepare grant summary reports; identify and conduct research on foundations, corporations, and major gift donors for potential grant requests of support.

 Section 3 – Qualifications & Requirements:

The successful candidate possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Human Resources, or a comparable Undergraduate Degree with significant professional work experience in a related role.  You will be responsible for writing proposals, tracking budget expenses, staffing, quality management, managing processes, organization, coaching, communication processes, motivating others, promoting process improvement, and reporting skills.

Knowledge and experience in the Not for Profit sector is an asset.

Proficiency in using a Windows-based computer system is required.

Job and/or Program Location(s): Mission/Abbotsford

Working conditions:

  • Travel with reimbursement for mileage and use of a reliable vehicle with business insurance required
  • Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a criminal record check
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Occupational First Aid, Level 1 certificate is required. Copy of valid certification must be presented on first day of work
  • Previous use of SARA or WRSFV services must be disclosed at time of application
